About the project
Vaal Mall was my second large scale consulting project. This was the first carport project. The instillation was done at the highest standards and the products used were the best. We still learnt the value of monitoring and ROI tracking with this project. It is common to see carport solar now, but when we installed this it was new to market. But the way it was designed is still industry leading to this day. We did sacrifice a bit on efficiency for practicality, but it is worth it in the long run.
This instillation also taught us the value of safety in large systems. The installer at that time had far fewer regulations than there exists today, however they ensured to future-proof the instillation with class leading safety that is still being used to this day.
